Holiday Decorating: Folklore Fiesta

Some of my favorite Christmas decorations growing up were the retablos and Mexican pottery candlesticks.  We inherited them from my grandparents, who had collected them while traveling.  They looked so vibrant amongst our more staid New England decorations and they spoke to a global celebration and the way different people craft light and beauty to balance out this darkest part of the year.


Here we have different textiles and objects that reflect that bright, handmade aesthetic, with a global range from the Andes to Scandinavia.
